In Stock now : Fender Jazz Bass Fretless (’62 Reissue) – Made in Japan E-Serial (Fujigen). Buyer out of EU responsible for all import cost.
There’s really no mystery here : it’s a Fender Jazz Bass. You know exactly what it is. That timeless 3-Tone Sunburst, that tortoise pickguard, that smooth fretless fingerboard that makes you believe you’re Jaco for about 10 seconds before reality hits.
This one was built in Japan between 1985 and 1987, during the FujiGen golden era, when Fender Japan was quietly out-Fendering Fender USA. It’s a ’62 Reissue Fretless (model JB62-75FL I think, correct me if I'm wrong) with all the right vintage specs:
Fender Jazz Bass Fretless (’62 Reissue) - Specs :
- Alder body, 3-Tone Sunburst finish
- Fretless rosewood fingerboard
- Vintage single-coil pickups
- Traditional control layout (Volume / Volume / Tone)
- Chrome hardware, tortoise pickguard
- Slender ’60s-style neck profile
- The ground between the bridge pickup and the bridge
- Weight : 4,28kg / 9,43 Lbs
Before listing it, one of our techs gave it a full check-up and replaced the nut, which had seen better days. The guy makes Dexter Morgan look casual when it comes to attention to detail, so trust me, this bass is dialed in tighter than your favorite crime drama plot.
If you’re hunting for that singing fretless tone with all the vintage flavor and none of the fake-relic nonsense, this is it. Plug in, slide up, and let that Jazz Bass magic do its thing.
